Mr. Miroslav Ognyanov joined Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. in 2001 and became a partner in 2003. He is heading the firm’s Telecommunications Law Practice Group and the Competition Law and Pharma Law Practice Group and also specializes in M&A, company law and international private law.

Mr. Ognyanov graduated cum laude from Sofia University, Faculty of Law (LL.M. 2000) as well as from a four-semester course of English and European Law at the University of Cambridge, UK. In 2001 he participated in the traineeship program in the Hanover office of Goehmann Wrede Haas Kappus & Hartmann.

Mr. Ognyanov is a draftsman of the Electronic Communications Act and the Electronic Commerce Act. Since 2009 he is a member of the Advisory Council on Electronic Communications, Postal Services, Information Society and Electronic Governance at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications. Mr. Ognyanov has extensive experience in structuring and negotiating transactions, legal due diligence and managing projects. He has participated in all stages of advising construction of telecommunications networks, representation of clients with regard to different administrative procedures, obtaining of all necessary permits and licenses, participation in public tenders etc. He has profound expertise in representation of clients before the Commission for Protection of Competition regarding unfair competition, anti-trust and abusive practices in the field of telecommunications and information technologies, as well as in merger control procedures.

Mr. Ognyanov is a member of the Sofia Bar Association (SBA), the International Bar Association (IBA), the Center for ICT Law (CLICT) and is appointed as a country representative for Bulgaria of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw). Mr. Ognyanov is a panelist at the Czech Arbitration Court – the only arbitration body appointed by EURid to provide alternative dispute resolution (ADR) for .eu domain name disputes.

He is fluent in English and possesses working knowledge of Russian.
