At the end of June, Mr. George Dimitrov, attorney-at- law, Senior Partner in Dimitrov, Petrov & Co., read two lectures at the Catholic university, Louven, Belgium. The topic of the first lecture was: Harmonization of the Bulgarian legislation in the field of information and telecommunications technologies with the EU law, and the second lecture was about the role of providing certified services and the use of the electronic signatures.In July, George Dimitrov, attorney-at-law, took part in a work meeting, held in Brussels, as a national correspondent for Bulgaria on the project of the European commission for preparing a report for transportation of the Electronic Signatures Directive in the local legislations and for amendments of the directive. During the meeting Mr. Dimitrov read a report about the development of the Bulgarian legislation and practice on the electronic signatures matters. It was underlined in the report that the Bulgarian legislation is in fully accordance to the Directive and even that our country has reached bigger success than other European countries.
At the end of September, during a teaching seminar in the field of e-commerce for lawyers from Burgas Bar Association Mr. George Dimitrov delivered a report on the topic “E-commerce and electronic signatures – legal aspects”. Some days later he took part in a qualification course for auditors from “AFA” and “Ernst & Young”. The topic of the course was the interpretation of the legal aspects of the invalid transactions.
Mr. Miroslav Ognyanov, attorney-at-law, who became a partner in Dimitrov, Petrov & Co., participated in a round table on the project “Initiative Open Management” on the topic “Reforms in the system of public orders for raising the market orientation of the economy”.
