On  April 22 – 25, 2009 Dr. George Dimitrov, Partner at Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. Law Firm attended the Meritas Annual Meeting in Orlando, USA.. Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. is a member of Meritas, an alliance of around 200 independent law firms worldwide. This year’s conference focused on significant trends in today’s economy, renewable energy, financial regulation and climate change. Mr. Dimitrov participated in various sessions on the future of legal services in difficult economic times as well as in the meetings of the Competition Group and the Private Equity Group.

On April 02 – 03, 2009 Dr. George Dimitrov, Partner at Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. Law Firm, Ms Plamena Nikolaeva, Senior Associate and Desislava Krusteva, Associate at the law firm were speakers at the final conference “Justice in the Digital Era” held in Dedeman Princess Sofia Hotel. The event was part of the project “Justice in the Digital Era” funded by the European Commission. Dr. Dimitrov opened the final conference where Ms Krusteva presented the project results. Ms Nikolaeva focused on the topic “Copyright on the Internet and Online Copyright Infringement”. Various up-to-date issues were discussed including EU policies against cybercrime, the necessity for legislative amendments, online pornography, counterfeit credit cards, electronic evidence, etc. Magistrates, investigators, state officials and NGO representatives from the whole country attended the conference.
