Mr. Alexander Todorov is a partner at Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. Law Firm since 2005, heading the Real Estate Law & Foreign Investments Department.
He has graduated magna cum laude from Sofia University, Faculty of Law (LL.M. 2004), and passed a course in American Business Law from October 2001 to January 2002. Mr. Todorov started his career at Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. in 2001, and has ever since specialised mainly in the areas of litigation, real estate and construction law, contract and commercial law.
Mr. Todorov has extensive experience in providing comprehensive legal services through the whole process of investment in real estates (directly or by acquisition of shares) – legal analyses and due diligence, negotiations, acquisition, construction, tax advice, renting and sale of buildings, holiday complexes and shopping centres, in condominium relationships, etc., as well as in-court and arbitration litigation in numerous commercial disputes. He has significant practice in structuring and negotiating transactions involving loans, mortgages and private funding, as well as in acquisition of companies. He works in the field of administrative and legal appeal of tax acts. Mr. Todorov has been several times a lecturer on the legal regime of foreign investments in Bulgaria and on the implementation of the system of entering of notary deeds into the Property Register, as well as on the Cadastre Act and the Property Register. He is an Assistant Professor in Real Estate Law at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Faculty of Law.
In 2014-2015 he worked on the legal analysis of the credit portfolio of one of the largest commercial banks in Bulgaria and on the lawsuits against the bank’s debtors as a member of the law firm’s team assigned with the respective tasks during the period of special supervision of the bank and its insolvency.
He is a member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Sofia Bar Association (SBA).
He is excellent in English and uses Russian.
