Mr. Bogdan Petrov is a founding partner of Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. Law Firm and head of the Energy Law Practice Group and the Public procurement Practice group.
He graduated from Sofia University, Faculty of Law (LL.M. 1994) and specialized Management at the University of National and World Economy, Sofia. He also completed the Enterprise and Investment Course organized by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), Rome, Italy (2003).
Mr. Petrov is a draftsman of numerous acts of primary and secondary legislation inter alia the E-communications Act, the E-commerce Act, the amendments to the Cadastre and Property Register Act and respective implementing acts.
Mr. Petrov has more than 10 years of experience in leading projects and international transactions for acquisition of telecom, ICT and energy companies in Bulgaria and has published relevant studies and articles in national and international editions. Mr. Petrov headed the legal team of Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. in numerous M&A transactions among which advising a leading UK investor for the sale of the majority stake of the third mobile operator in the country – a deal considered to be among the biggest acquisitions in Bulgaria for the telecom sector during the last several years.
Mr. Petrov has extensive experience in advising energy companies on all issues related to the possibility of implementing energy business in Bulgaria, assistance in licensing procedures, privatization of the energy sector in Bulgaria, etc. He is trusted by airline carriers, steel production companies, telecom operators, road construction companies, energy companies, and different state authorities in providing legal advice on complicated legal commercial matters.
Mr. Petrov is a member of the Council of the Sofia Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the Center for ICT law.
He speaks English fluently.
