21 January 2019

The Dimitrov, Petrov & Co. leading expert in intellectual property law Bilyana Angelova is one of the teachers in the first edition of the Trade Mark and Design Education Programme of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). The course runs from September 2018 to June 2019 combining e-learning, live-streamed presentations and face-to-face sessions.

The education programme is delivered by the EUIPO staff, leading IP practitioners and academics and is aimed at improving the quality of the applications and submissions before the EUIPO through increasing knowledge of the EU trade mark and design law and sharing best practices. It also covers proceedings before the General Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

The Programme is a good opportunity for interaction between the EUIPO and IP practitioners in trade mark and design registration and prosecution. This practical course is designed for lawyers looking to obtain in-depth knowledge and professional expertise in the IP law area.

This training format provides sound basis for developing successful strategies for registering, defending or contesting EU IP rights using the tools delivered by the EUIPO.

Bilyana was recommended as a trainer for two sessions of the Programme by the European Communities Trade Mark Association (ECTA), where Bilyana actively participates in the work of the Internet Committee.
