Another DPC trainee wins a prestigious international competition
09 June 2020
After our trainee Iva Belcheva’s team was among the winners of Jessup - the world’s largest moot court competition earlier this year, now we have yet another occasion to celebrate. Petya Adzhopova, another of DPC’s promising trainees, and her team from the Faculty of Law of Sofia University won the European Human Rights Moot Court Competition (EHRMCC). One of the team’s trainers, Nedko Radev, is also a former DPC trainee.
The competition, which is organized by European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) and simulates the procedures of complaints to the European Court of Human Rights was held virtually from 2 to 4 June 2020. Over the different stages of the competition Petya’s team faced rivals from Austria, Germany and France (Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne) and finally it won the best written submission awards as both respondent and applicant. Winning an international competition of such scale is a tremendous success preceded by tremendous work.
Congratulations to Petya, her team and trainers! We are very proud to have such talented and hard-working young people in DPC!
