Desislava Krusteva commented on the EU plans for the regulation of AI development and use for Bloomberg TV
12 February 2020
Desislava Krusteva was invited in the morning show Business Start of Bloomberg TV to comment on the rules for using artificial intelligence that the EU is about to introduce and how they are going to affect the companies developing facial recognition products.
Desislava elaborated on the main principles underlying those rules, which aim to guarantee that basic human rights and freedoms would not be infringed by the use of AI. She also discussed the development of the European technology sector in comparison to the American and Chinese ones, concluding that the strict EU data protection rules make it hard for European companies to catch up with the booming development of their American and Chinese rivals.
