01 November 2002Mr. George Dimitrov, the Managing Partner of Dimitrov, Petrov and Co successfully defended his project of a doctoral research “Liability of Certificate Authority” at one of the most prestigious European universities - Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, which is famous for its unique ICT Law Centre. The subject developed under the scientific direction of the leading specialist Prof. Joseph Dumortier caught the attention of the committee and Mr. George Dimitrov, Attorney-at-law was assigned to deliver two seminars at the university.
Alexander Todorov, Junior Associate took active part at the International Law Competition held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina within November 21-25, 2002. The event was part of the Balkan Case Challenge Initiative of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and non-profit organizations. Four students from different countries in a team pleaded in front of a five-member jury of the imitative International Court of the United Nations Organization.
By Ordinance of the Minister of the State Administration, George Dimitrov was appointed a member of the group of experts, which has to develop and submit to the Council of Ministers the draft of the Law on Electronic Commerce before June 30, 2003.
Mr. George Dimitrov and Mr. Miroslav Ognyanov took active part at the National Discussion Forum ‘Law and International Technologies’ organized by IDG Forums on December 13, 2002. In addition, Mr. George Dimitrov presented to the participants his lecture on ‘Information Technologies to help prevention of crimes. Cyber law - a new branch to regulate the electronic relations’.
International seminar on ‘Introducing the e-signature in practice’ was organized in November by ЕЕМА. Along with leading experts from Great Britain, Sweden, Germany, USA George Dimitrov actively participated in the discussions held.
Article by Miroslav Ognyanov on the ‘Protection of intellectual property rights in e-commerce’ was published in the 12th issue of ‘Market and Law’ magazine in its traditional rubric ‘Electronic Commerce’.
Miroslav Ognyanov, Senior Associate at Dimitrov, Petrov and Co participated at the workshop organized by the USA Department of Commerce, Program for Development of the Commercial Law. The event was held within December 2-6, 2002 in Washington under the title ‘Southeast Europe Telecommunication Liberalization Program’. Along with their colleagues from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania, Yugoslavia and Montenegro Bulgarian participants representing BTC, Cable Bulgaria, the Committee for Regulation of the Communications, Orbitel JSCo exchanged experience and knowledge within the framework of the workshop. « Previous Next »
