Draft of the First Code of Ethics in the Telecom Sector presented

The telecommunications industry in Bulgaria will soon have its own Code of Ethics. A draft of this first of its kind document for the sector was developed by atty. Hristo Nihrizov and atty. Nikola Stoychev, experts in the field of Telecommunication Law at Dimitrov, Petrov and Co. Law Firm and the Law and Internet Foundation. The document is a result of in-depth research and analysis of the environment and interconnections in this sector.
The draft of the Code of Ethics for Relationship with Users of Telecommunication Services was presented by Nikola Stoychev during the 8th Annual Conference of the Bulgarian Association of Cable and Communication Operators (BACCO) which was held on 9th November 2018. The discussion around the newly drafted document was attended by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, the Chair of the Commission for Consumer Protection, the Chairman of Management Board of BACCO and by а Member of the Communications Regulation Commission. The document sparked a vivid debate among the Conference participants who expressed their appreciation for the principles laid in it.
The Code of Ethics covers the basic concepts of the relationship between consumers and telecom operators, encouraging direct communication and dialogue between them. Industry experts see this document as the next step towards achieving a higher level of customer satisfaction which would contribute to the further development of the telecommunications sector.« Previous
