Pencho leads our Energy Practice, his current practice also being focused on dispute resolution and banking law. He represents market players from various industries in complex disputes and commercial lawsuits.
Pencho has been a key member of the team representing a leading electricity distribution service operator before the Court of Justice of the European Union for preliminary ruling on matters related to interpretation of EU Directive 2009/72. This case had significant importance on the electricity market in Bulgaria and could also influence the market in other EU member states.
Pencho has been providing full legal support to Tradenet Varna for developing from scratch a country-wide petrol station retail chain, advising the entire process of establishing a new business in a highly regulated industry, the acquisition of dozens of properties as well as the current commercial activity of the chain.
He recently finished his term as the first Ambassador for Bulgaria of Vienna International Arbitration Centre's community network (VIAC CAN). Pencho is recognized by Chambers Europe for his work in he area of Energy Law, by the Legal 500 and Benchmark Litigation Europe in Dispute Resolution, and by IFLR1000 in Project Development.
