Stefan Vandev

Stefan is a member of the Dispute Resolution and Litigation team. He specialises in insurance disputes and medical malpractice matters. As part of the team, he has represented both injured parties and defendants, including hospitals and insurance companies. He also frequently acts in employment disputes, in particular cases concerning unlawful termination.

Since 2024, Stefan has been supporting the Intellectual Property team in a series of court proceedings related to the infringement of patents for medicinal products. His role includes participation in the development of procedural strategy, as well as representation in proceedings challenging interim measures and protective measures granted under Directive 2004/48/EC.

Drawing on his previous experience as in-house counsel at a credit institution, Stefan has developed expertise in litigation involving credit institutions, including disputes related to consumer lending and payment disputes under the Payment Services and Payment Systems Act.

Stefan is a co-author ofthe article “Specificities of Interim Relief in Patent Litigation in Bulgaria and the Role of the Requirements of Urgency and Proportionality”, published in the December 2025 issue of EPLP – European Patent Litigation in Practice.
